Part of being an book blogger is being constantly exposed to bright shiny books, so many books. Every time I start making headway on my TBR I watch a book haul and my Amazon cart magically grows.
Who am I kidding, I LOVE buying books and my full bookshelves make me happy every time I enter my living room. There are however, many books that I can’t wait to finally read. I started off this challenge explaining why exactly I love these authors, but the post was getting extremely long so for the sake of your time I decided to just include the synopsis, you can thank me later.
I set a few rules for this challenge, to be considered a favorite author I must have read a minimum of two books by them. For example Salt to the Sea is one of my favorite books, however I have only read one book by Ruta Supetys, therefore I couldn’t include Between Shades of Grey.

Why? Morgan Matson writes contemporaries like no-one else. I always connect with her characters and they are the perfect summertime read (which makes me feel a little better about not reading her latest release).

Favorite Author: Cassandra Clare
Why? This is the one that cause me the most shame. I adored The Infernal Devices and the beginning of the Mortal Instruments (books 1-3) twice. I don’t know what it is about that fourth book that makes me lose steam but it happens every time. I’m going to push through though because I’ve heard The Dark Artifices are the best books she’s ever written.
Synopsis: When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder–much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It’s hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing–not even a smear of blood–to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy? This is Clary’s first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It’s also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace’s world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know… Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare’s ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.
Synopsis: It’s been five years since the events of City of Heavenly Firethat brought the Shadowhunters to the brink of oblivion. Emma Carstairs is no longer a child in mourning, but a young woman bent on discovering what killed her parents and avenging her losses.
Together with her parabatai Julian Blackthorn, Emma must learn to trust her head and her heart as she investigates a demonic plot that stretches across Los Angeles, from the Sunset Strip to the enchanted sea that pounds the beaches of Santa Monica. If only her heart didn’t lead her in treacherous directions…
Making things even more complicated, Julian’s brother Mark – who was captured by the faeries five years ago – has been returned as a bargaining chip. The faeries are desperate to find out who is murdering their kind-and they need the Shadowhunters’ help to do it. But time works differently in faerie, so Mark has barely aged and doesn’t recognize his family. Can he ever truly return to them? Will the faeries really allow it?
Glitz, glamours, and Shadowhunters abound in this heartrending opening to Cassandra Clare’s Dark Artifices series.
